MAIN CONVEYOR OVERVIEW

JIT’s main production conveyor line is an 850 foot long powered, variable speed system. Line hooks, rated at 75 pds capacity each, are spaced 1 foot apart. This gives us one of the heaviest capacity conveyor lines in the Twin City area.

The part window is 11 feet long by 5 feet high by 3 feet wide. Conveyor speed can be adjusted to meet product specific requirements. At 8 feet per minute, it takes a little more than 2 hours to complete a trip through the entire line

The pretreatment system is a 6 stage enclosed spray system capable of dealing with steel or aluminum interchangeably. Chemicals are provided by DuBois. The system is maintained in real time using automated dispensing equipment. A non chrome sealer can be added at stage 5, followed by an RO treated fresh water final rinse.

We use a GEMA Magic spray booth system to apply the powder. The system features 8 automatic spray guns plus manual touch up before and after the automatics, as required. We have reclaim capabilities for longer running jobs. A typical color change takes less than 12 minutes.

Our gas fired convection cure oven provides 250 linear feet of oven exposure, allowing us to properly cure parts with substantial mass.

A full time inspector assures customer finish requirements are met. Final packaging is done to standard or customer specified requirements.

JIT Main Line Washer System

JIT Powder Coating’s Main line conveyor system incorporates a 6-stage spray wash system using heated DuBois chemistries. This includes alkaline cleaners, iron phosphate surface treatment, optional non-chrome sealant, and an RO treated water final rinse.

JIT Main Line Powder Coating System

Installed in 2016, JIT Powder Coating’s Main line conveyor system uses a GEMA Magic system for coating parts. This system includes 8 automatic spray guns and optional manual touch-up before and after the automatics. Our color change time is ~12 minutes. The GEMA Magic booth uses an cyclone-style reclaim system allowing JIT to economically recover powder overspray for any production run lasting over 60 minutes.

JIT Main Line Curing System

JIT Powder Coating Main line conveyor system incorporates a convection oven to cure the applied powder coating paint. Nearly 250 feet of conveyor line inside the cure oven provides over 30 minutes of cure time at the average line speed of 8 fpm. This ensures parts reach the required metal temperatures for complete curing of the coating.

JIT Main Line QC and Packaging

Every part on JIT Powder Coating’s Main line conveyor system is visually inspected prior to packaging. Additional QC tests are performed on each batch of parts for critical parameters such as film thickness, color and gloss. (See QC section for more details)

Parts are packaged per customer request using a variety of packaging materials (foam, paper, bags) and returned in containers or on pallets as received. Packaged parts are reviewed one final time when loaded to ensure the finished parts will not be damaged in transportation.
